Commission and Public Hearings

The P&Z Commission is made up of seven community volunteers who serve two-year terms.  They are appointed by the Mayor, and confirmed by the Governing Body.  There is no limit to the number of terms they may serve.  Any resident of the Village is eligible to serve on the Commission; To download an application for Volunteer appointment CLICK HERE.

The Commission schedules public hearings for the purpose of taking action on business items such as variance requests, subdivisions, site development plans, and zone map amendments.  Home Occupation Permit applications are also heard and approved prior to the business operator obtaining a Business Registration.  The Land Use Ordinances (including Subdivision) are the laws that the Commission follows in conducting the public hearings.  (Village Code) If you wish to send an email to any or all of the Planning and Zoning Commission please contact the Planning and Zoning Department by e-mail at PZcorrales@corrales-nm.org.

OFFICE HOURS: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Mornings are available for walk-in requests to meet with staff. Afternoons are appointments only. It is best to call for an appointment to ensure that the appropriate person will be available to see you.
