Mayor’s Friday Post
Really exciting news this week. Corrales is the safest city in New Mew Mexico, according to safewise.com. Our Number One status is based on 2016 crime numbers and since 2017 was even better, this is great news for Corrales. Thank you to our police department and to the diligent citizens of Corrales, who keep an eagle eye out for suspicious activity. Going forward, let’s stay alert and keep up the good work. And helping us with this mission is our newest police officer, Officer Victor Alvarado. Police Chief Mangiacapra swore him in at the Council Meeting on Tuesday night. Welcome, Officer Alvarado!
We had a great turnout at the Meet your Local Government event hosted by MainStreet. It was terrific to see so many citizens mingling with our elected representatives and staff. I hope we’ll have similar events in the future to make sure our residents meet our Village officials and employees. Putting a name to a face can make all the difference in making our Village work better.
In my last Friday post, I talked about signs - some of the dos and don’ts. Because of some good feedback we got, we are going to make our sign permit form better. Finally, remember to stay safe from all our windy conditions. Have a great weekend.
