Ann Simon currently works as the Economic Development Program Manager for the Mid-Region Council of Governments (MRCOG). She brings over 25 years of experience with policy and program planning. She coordinates all economic development activities at the MRCOG, including the Economic Development Administration programs, local economic development efforts, technical assistance for startups and entrepreneurs, and MRCOG’s Agriculture Collaborative. She was formerly with the Bernalillo County Office of Environmental Health providing strategic community-based planning, marketing and budget management. She moved to New Mexico in February of 1996 from Washington, D.C., where she worked on national and local policy issues, both on Capitol Hill and at the White House Office on Environmental Policy. Her last few years in Washington were spent at the National Association of County and City Health Officials developing models of national programs to be implemented at the local level. Ms. Simon holds a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University.
