On 03/11/2024, Officers responded to a structure fire on Don Quijote CT. Upon arrival Officers could see smoke emitting from the home, and garage. The fire appeared to be in the garage. Officers were able to assist residents evacuate the home with the assistance of the Fire Department. It was brought to the attention of emergency personnel that a male was still in the garage, once the male was located, he was taken from a room in the garage where he was declared deceased from his injuries by medical staff.

On 03/14/2024, Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle on Camino Rayo Del Sol. Upon arrival Officers were able to locate the vehicle. Officers had the occupants of the vehicle vacate the vehicle. As the driver stepped out of the vehicle Officers were able to detect what was possible the smell of drugs. The officer also saw a pipe in the car. The driver was detained for questioning, and a search of the vehicle was conducted after the owner gave permission to search the vehicle. Upon search of the vehicle. Numerous drugs were located in the vehicle. The driver was arrested and booked into Sandoval County Detention for Felony Possession of Drugs.

Corrales Police Officers conducting traffic enforcement through out the week, made several arrests for drivers with outstanding warrants.

Corrales Police will be increasing extra patrols in conjunction with the Sandoval County DWI Task Force operations in the month of March. Be responsible and designate a driver or use a ride-share service.
