CRIME AND SAFETY UPDATE FOR 4/1/24

Merchandise was reported to have been shoplifted from a business on the 3700 block of Corrales RD at about 9:00AM on Tue. 03/26.  The suspect was described as a Hispanic / Latino male with a moustache and goatee driving a silver / grey Mitsubishi passenger car with black tape around the rear window. 

Shortly after 7:00PM on Thu. 03/28 a driver who was stopped for speeding on Loma Larga near Ranchitos Rd was found to have outstanding bench warrants for traffic offenses out of Rio Rancho Municipal Court and Bernalillo County Metro Court.  The 40-year-old Rio Rancho woman was cited for speeding and booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center on the outstanding warrants.

At approximately 5:30PM on Sat. 03/30 a driver who was stopped for speeding on the 7800 block of Corrales RD was found to have an outstanding bench warrant for a traffic offense out of Rio Rancho Municipal Court.  The 39-year-old Rio Rancho woman was cited for speeding and booked into the Sandoval County Detention center on the outstanding warrant.

Please practice good driving habits and:

--Make sure that everyone in your vehicle is properly buckled up.

--Leave early to give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination and not feel rushed.

--Watch your speed and following distance.

--Don’t text or otherwise drive distracted.

--Refrain from letting an aggressive driver bait you into a road rage incident.

--Never drink and drive or let someone you care about do so.
