Courtroom Procedures

Cases are set on a trailing docket which means that all cases are set at the same time and each case is called in succession. The cases are prioritized by a number of factors, officer seniority, alphabetical order and type of case. Your patience is appreciated, sometimes there are many cases.

Possible penalties for crimes cited into the court include:

  • Up to a $1000 fine or penalty assessment fine of varying amounts, depending on the ticket
  • Mandated court costs and fees
  • Up to 90 days jail for petty crimes which are not a fixed, penalty assessment
  • Up to 179 days in jail for citations such as Driving While Intoxicated, Driving with a Suspended or Revoked Driver's License or when you are found guilty of multiple criminal violations
